i'd really like to see this, i liked the first book a lot.
i assume it'll be cinema released, so I shall have to wait.

That looks good - I'm just re-reading Dune.
The Sci-Fi channels did a version some years ago that wasn't too bad.
As for the De Laurentis .... thing. Let's pile up all copies and get a sandworm to swallow them (it'll probably get gut-ache.)

The best part of the SyFy channel version was the continuation of the storyline into the Children of Dune arc and the rise of the introduction of the God Emperor Leto II.

Also, for the Modiphius RPG, that SyFy short series offered a glimpse into era of Muad'Dib's conquest of the galaxy which is a great place to drop plot hooks for your routine party of RPG players looking for that old staple of combat action and not just political machinations. Interestingly, the rules light variant of the 2d20 game engine seems well crafted for narrating Dune storylines.
