So, I'm on holiday at the moment in foreign climes with the kids and the better half, but being a shutterbug I couldn't resist taking a 'proper camera' with me. Sure, my iPhone 7 takes great photos but the optical quality is nowhere near that of my Panasonic gear.
I mused on what to take (I usually prefer using just prime lenses) but in the end settled on my older GX1 with the 14-42mm power zoom (smaller than the manual zoom and much less space than taking the Trinity of primes* I usually have). I took the GX1 because it's my second camera, and smaller and less valuable than the GX7 I usually use. My one conceit was talking the rangefinder because I love the style using it vertically and it's better in direct sunlight.
What I'm missing from the GX7 is the screen quality and the WiFi connectiveness. I like taking Street Photos and the tiltable back screen lets you be much more subtle.
Overall, I'm glad I brought it, even if the bulk of pictures I take will be on the iPhone 7.
Anyone else out there a shutterbug? I still hang out on Flickr if anyone else does: https://www.flickr.com/photos/cybergoths/
*14, 20 and 42mm. Double this for 35mm equivalents as it's a micro 4/3 CSC mirrorless camera.
