Great pitch.

And if John Ossoway also runs some Android cyberpunk, maybe I can run some Dieselpunk.

When In Doubt, Improvise
System: Paranoia

GM: Paul Baldowski

Members of a secret society are attempting to contaminate Alpha Complex with contraband. Reports indicate a trade of said contraband with another secret society in just under one hour. Your mission is simple: Disrupt the trade, kill all traitors and deliver the contraband for safe storage. Failure is not acceptable and severely life-limiting and will be managed accordingly.

Another Friday Night
System: Cyberpunk 2013

GM: Paul Baldowski

Sometimes a run goes south, but in this biz, you have always managed to weather the storm, even if it leaves you with a list of favours and enemies as long as your annual medical bill. But, drek it, this time it feels like you might have pushed your luck, chummer. You get the feeling – bag over your head, zip tie around your wrists, the sound of a moving vehicle around you – that no angel is going to swoop in this time to rescue you from this hose job.

Two offerings from moi

All Systems Gone
System: Reboot

Seven years ago the mega-corporation Stirling INC left the colony of New Oldham. It pulled all VIP personnel off-world to the Corporate HQ on Westminster, to consolidate assets during the Galactic War. As soon as they shut their Tower in the financial district the planetary economy went into recession.

A whole generation came of age during this time. Most enjoyed mass employment by joining various street gangs. Others found in jobs with the only other growth sector, Corporate security. A small minority, the Cyberpunks, set their sights higher on actually creating a fairer system for the people on-world, rather than a small number of investors off-world.

Now the Galactic War is over, and there are rumours that Stirling Inc is coming back. The lights are on at the Tower, and mystery money is buying up cheap stock on the local stock exchange. The Cyberpunks realise that must they either get their plans for planetary revolution off the ground, or they will get hunted down by the returning Corporate Executives.

All Systems Gone uses a hacked version of the Linimal system, called Reboot. It's a direct and straightforward set of rules, using a unified 2d6 mechanic. Reboot uses a modified ruleset to stimulate the high-octane worlds of 23rd Century Cyberpunk in Space.

Holidays in the Sun
System: Savage Worlds

London Calling!

It is 1984 and five years since the glorious Punk revolution here in the United Republic. Our anarchistic methods toppled the monarchy and their cronies. Now it’s time to use the same techniques to bring down the Dictator of a banana republic in the south seas tropical island of Lalonde.

Will there be fast cars? Yes!

Will there be explosions? Yes!

Guns and Guitars? Hell yeah!

As well as the usual mob of homegrown anarchists, you'll be assisted by our allies in US Scene who have expertise in disrupting CIA backed governments from their time enabling regime change in Central America.

SO KICK OUT THE JAMS MOTHERFUCKERS!!!

Cmdr Joe Strummer.

At last a game that is Punk! Not SortaPunk, or NotVeryPunk, or Idon'treallyunderstandPunk or even fucking TolkienPunk!. Using the Savage Worlds system because there will be lots of guns and shooting and stuff. Don't sign up if you are of a gentle thoughtful persuasion, who dislikes swearing. Because there will be f**k all of that type of playstyle in this game!!

I've pulled my previous Saturday night game "Holidays in the Sun" because on reflection I don't think it would work as a convention game. Instead, offer this in its place...

Essex.
System: The Outsiders

"Well, hasn't 1984 been a horrible year so far? Don't worry its October now, so nearly over. So, your next job is in Essex. A quaint little village called Coggeshall. Halfway between the towns of Braintree and Colchester. Apparently, they film Lovejoy there. Whoopy-do. Other bits of interest there. A nearby airfield abandoned after world war 2, a Tudor house that's on the tourist trail along with the medieval church of St Peters. Oh and a murder rate that's comparable with Los Angles in America. That's why we are sending your little band of punk misfits, Falkland vets and acid casualties there. You're going in to dig through the dirt and find out why good normal law-abiding pillars of the community are turning up dead or missing. Like a pack of the terriers, we are sending down the rat holes, to drag out whatever nasty vermin is down there. Actually, that's not a bad name for your outfit "The Terriers". "
Albert Stansford, MI6 Briefing Officer, Whitehall 12th October 1984.

The Outsiders is a take on Lovecraftian/Cosmic Horror with elements of Body Horror, with a Punk Attitude. Where the player characters are true outsiders to mainstream society. They have been reluctantly been recruited by British Military Intelligence to investigate, and if necessary deal with, supernatural threats which are outside of the services usual remit. The game uses a modified version of Paul Mitchener's Liminal system, with new traits and concepts to reflect the horror genre. Note while fairly robust The Outsiders is still in playtest.

Minas Tirith Calling
System: The One Ring
Number of Players: 5
Slot: 2 (intended)
Faramir returned from Ithlien and led a small number of soldiers to rout the forces of Mordor who were laying siege to Minas Tirith. Even the Witch King fled his presence. In the aftermath he was proclaimed King of Gondor, and Gondor is great again! Even orcs, deserting from Mordor, acknowledge his majesty, and saw the error of their ways. They patrol the streets in their black and silver uniforms alongside their human comrades in the Guards. They can deal with any who challenge the king.

You know the king is a tyrant, and the Guard, both human and orc, are sadistic bullies, and they need overthrowing. Not just the current king, but the whole rotten system as this is the result. Maybe you can do something, or at least smash something up, and a resistance is forming. So you find yourself talking to someone rumoured to be in the know, who goes only by the initial P…

f**k Armageddon
System: The Revolution Machine (GUMSHOE based)

Earth is broken. A mess of pollution, raised temperatures, and raised sea levels. Parts of the planet are uninhabitable through the use of nuclear weapons and the resulting radiation, even though full on nuclear war was narrowly avoided. The rain forests are gone.

It’s a time to look to space for the future. But space is under the control of the Authority and the Corporations. The Corporations own people out in the solar system.

But not you. Time to smash some shit up, fight to end their control.

Warning: This is a new game I'm putting together, based on the GUMSHOE SRD. This is a playtest.
