Mmmm, I think I know how to do all of that....

Just not been a fan of splat personally so it reduces value to me. Not dissing it. Lovely cover.

I loved Volo and Mordenkain, never read Xanathar.

Adding sidekick rules beyond the Essentials kit is a good idea, and magic tattoos and other non-item rewards are useful, so it should be useful beyond the “splat” element.

And the alt-cover is lovely - so unusual to have a D&D book cover with such a light theme.
I guess, I will only be collecting the alternate covers nowadays. The are all so great, but this one is so unique so different form Rime of the Frostmiaden and the Eberron alternate covers, though I really love the Eberron.

Yes it looks like a great purchase. Can you get the core three books with alternate covers?

There was a Core Set with Hydro74 alt covers: https://dnd.wizards.com/products/tabletop-games/rpg-products/dd-core-rules-gift-set (scroll down for a photo) but I’m not sure if they’re available anymore. These covers are usually single-printing game store exclusives.

(Pre-orders for both Rime of the Frostmaiden and Tasha’s collectors editions are being taken by Patriot Games, I think, if I can plug my FLGS!)
