[shopping] Temptation waits... what are you resisting?

However, my major investment will be in Frank Herbert's Dune, the definitive 2d20 game from Modiphius.
Is that definitive because of the setting or the rules? I've never really been able to get excited about Dune, I read the first two books and then choked on the third. The film felt a bit icky and annoying.

I find the Dune universe most intriguing, including Brian Herbert's prequels to Frank Herbert's Dune.
And of course, I enjoy the 2d20 game engine more than others.
Fortunately, for me, Modiphius is uniting my favorite fiction (Robert E. Howard's Conan, Star Trek, John Carter of Mars, Dune) together with my favorite RPG engine. Even the first Fallout was my favorite isometric view computer RPG.

I've been resisting the urge to get into these 2d20 games. I have this nagging feeling that I should find a popular current system or two to play, so that I have something in common with the cool kids. I've gone as far as getting (and printing) the Conan quick start, but not played it yet. John Carter has my fingers twitching towards my wallet, and 2d20 Achtung Cthulhu may be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

ps. Is it weird that my auto correct doesn't know Achtung but does know Cthulhu?

Lot of controversy about Stygian Fox putting out multiple KS projects while having several outstanding. Some folks have claimed it's a sort of Ponzi scheme but make your own mind up.

Are they outstanding and late, or just still in progress? I've not followed any of their projects after Hudson and Brand, but they seem to have been releasing stuff.

Are people just grumpy they are splitting their attention between multiple projects, or is it approaching 'See you at Dragonmeet, Mr Wallis' levels of annoyance?

A bunch still outstanding, new ones started and a Patreon just initiated. Looks like a shortage of funds issue after Steph's illness problem last year. People are grumpy and at least one has made a complaint to KS about having multiple KS project when that seems to be against their rules. Not up to the James Wallis level yet though, but some pointed questions could be asked if Steph turns up at Dragonmeet.

Health problems in America are so much worse. Will not mention names to protect the creative team whose Kickstarter is still not delivered since the 2014 target. We get monthly updates do knew about the medical complications.
