[generic] What are you backing?

Forgot to flaunt my Deadlands Kickstarter badge, so here it goes, I am so, so, backing Deadlands The Weird West RPG.
Even got the silver backer medal, just missed out on the gold by seconds, so could not be first backer.

For clarity, this is the new Deadlands rebooted for SWAdE (Savage Worlds Adventure Edition).

It does look good. I went big on the SWAdE kickstarter, and I've got a few Savage settings but Deadlands doesn't appeal to me that much. I do watch the Pinnacle site in case they come up with a setting that I like and which could fill a gap.

Yes, I almost went all in the original RIFTS Kickstarter. Then it had the upgrades to SWAdE. The best part of Savage Worlds games is that the core system is still very similar across editions, so much easier to migrate than with the editions of Dungeons and Dragons.

Am I the only person resisting the latest Shadows of Esteren Kickstarter?
No, you're not alone. I have Book 0: Prologue and the art prints that I picked up in the ConTingency raffle, one day I may get around to doing something with it. But there are so many games and so few players (and hours)...

I'm sure I'll get into a game of it at some point in the next five years; but as for running it I've now got a large pile of Symbaroum, Tradvung Chronicles, The One Ring, and Forbidden Lands (amongst many others) to keep me going....
Good to see your great collection of fantasy settings. At some point you need to find a legit excuse not to splurge on more.

I just realised these days I am only splurging on mostly purely D&D d20 engine games, so Trudvang Adventures for 5e is my current Kickstarter fav.

As for Studio Agate, knowing Shadows of Esteren is an artistic masterpiece, I am, instead, eagerly awaiting their bestiary Kickstarter for the Fateforge RPG powered by 5e too. Fateforge has a richer and more immersive world than you get with the original 5th Edition from Wizards of the Coast.

I'm frequently tempted by Shadows of Esteren, but I've so far resisted each time. I'll probably eventually succumb to at least the universe book, but probably not via Kickstarter.

I can add Pathfinder 2e and others to that impressive list. I think the addition for me, on this most recent Kickstarter, is a nice looking art book, and the art is gorgeous. I'm resisting.

Ditto, I want to want it, and sometimes I do, and then I do a quick ready reckoning in my head and realised I can tick most of the boxes:
Beautiful - tick! French -tick! Emotional - tick! Gothic dark wistful - tick!

To me, nowadays, the game system is very important. If Shadows of Esteren was powered by 5th Edition, I would be pledging at the highest levels. Like the glut of that d20 OGL, I think 5th Edition is creating a much demanded glut of D&D5e conversions (Monte Cook's Ptolus, Trudvang Adventures, even Pathfinder Kingmaker 10th anniversary edition).

I haven't taken the time to look at this latest one - is there much there that, um, a friend who might have backed lots of previous Esteren kickstarters might need/want?
