[watching] What have you seen recently?

I saw trailers for The Captain round about the same time as I watched The Man With the Iron Heart. The latter put me off watching stuff about Nazi Germany for a while so never got round to The Captain. I was also put off by a scene which seemed to be a mass shooting with a flak gun, looked pretty grim.

I'm watching Still Game at the moment. The adventures of Glaswegian pensioners Jack and Victor. It's rude, crude, sometimes bleak, occasionally touching and maybe even profound. Caught this in the middle of its run when it migrated to mainstream BBC. I'm watching it on Netflix from the start and it does seem to be one of those series that began fully formed although I gather the characters were already well established in Scottish sketch show Chewin' the Fat.

I watched The Witcher but struggled to get to the end. I watched Hellboy and quite enjoyed it. I watched London Irish (a 6-part "sitcom" previously on Channel 4 but now on Netflix) and enjoyed that too. I've started watching The Expanse season 4 but not finding it as good as the previous seasons. Gotta give Lost in Space and Titans a go now (I enjoyed the first season of each) .

Not sure even Picard is up for beating Discovery, but not seen it. :)

Lost in Space was again a solid series, so now a need a new one as good as that. But I have about seven I think will be really good so spoilt for choice.

Finally got round to watching Wonder Woman - really enjoyed its bonkers mash up of Greek mythology and WW1 steampunk. Looking forward to WW84 now (Blue Monday!)

tl;dr this should be up for an Oscar, not Tarantino's film
Funny, poignant, new insight for me, great music, great cast, uplifting, well acted.. 10/10
Damn, MF, I might just watch it again..

Well one series got ditched quick Another Life, so much wrong with it...
but after their spaceship had a lot of damage the "crew" who never work were back in the "student lounge" having a chat. I just laughed.

I thought there was some suggestion of a new Witcher RPG after the series success, or was that someone's wishful thinking?

Wonder Women was alright, but tipping the mythology on its head did not go down well with me and was a change way back in the comics, from warrior women to ambassadors of peace was a bit of a strectch. :)

I started watching the series and thought it was okay. I gave it a chance but halfway through the series I lost interest. It had so much potential but it was squandered.

Trying out another two series I had hoped would be good did not work out (The Innocents and Always A Witch) so back to a tried and trusted Mindhunter which after a couple of episodes looks still solid in season two. Deadwater Fell (Channel 4) was quite good and went down well in one evening.
