[shopping] What have you splurged on recently?

I just backed the Old School Essentials Kickstarter for the main book, the boxed set, the advanced classes add-ons, and the Winter's Daughter adventure. I don't normally do this sort of thing, but hey, my birthday's coming up. Mind you, so is my 25th anniversary ...

Old School Essentials Kickstarter
I've seen this and I'm quite interested, but can't figure out why I'd want this over the dozen or so other OSR sets?

What's particularly good about this one?

To answer my own question:

- It's faithful representation of B/X D&D
- It's very well organised, and easy to use at the table.
- Presentation is top notch.

So, do I need it? Hell no!
Did I back it anyway? Yep!

I do think Gavin Norman's stuff for Dolmenwood is excellent.
So if you really like B/X.. and want an expansion that goes in different and quite fungal and British directions, then this is the set for you IMHO

There's going to be a Kickstarter for a Dolmenwood set later this year apparently.

Backed Terraforming Mars - absolutely love this game

For those of you interested in the D&D Cyclopedia, not only is the pdf greatly reduced but the print versions are slashed too as part of drivethrurpg.com's May D&D sale. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/17171/DD-Rules-Cyclopedia-Basic?affiliate_id=35459

Also, Old School Essentials has gone through the roof funding wise :D
I was loitering around the fence, distracted by the Rules Cyclopedia, and then the "Old School Essentials" unlocked full color and a great price for the full tome, so this will be my first old school collectible. Yay!!!

Production value of "Crypts and Things" top notch too. :)

By the way, Newt, did Milton Davies or Balogun Ojetade contact you with regards to using Open Quest for their planned "Ki Khanga" new edition Kickstarter?
