This arrived. It’s basically ‘what the Merry Men did next’. Robin of Loxley is dead, Little John has gone into exile, Friar Tuck was burned as a heretic and Marian wanders the land as a sword for hire. Someone’s got to protect the people.

It was an impulse buy after Scott tweeted about it. I’m a sucker around the Robin Hood legend.

It's a very lightweight framework in a short zine; definitely don't seek it out for lore. You'd do better with story collection, the Osprey Robin Hood book or the old ITV series Robin of Sherwood. That said, I like the ideas with it and think it could be fun with the right group.

Core Worlds, Children of Orion, Blue, the Far Havens and The City People for Mindjammer because all of a sudden the HOG have expressed an interest in 'what's that space game we played where the comet hit the planet and Ben got his eye burned out by a laser thanks to Harry? That was fun.'

When I first read it (and this was the Starblazer version), I was a little overwhelmed.
I've broken it down into discernable chunks; modified by the published stuff. Rather than giving the PC's full reign; define YOUR setting and what is available.

I wrote an intro adventure; then read 'Hearts and Minds' and realised that I wasn't setting the bar high enough.

My intro adventure now involves a renegade sentient spaceship looking to recruit crew to help it relocate a device capable of causing major stellar instabilities (generating massive solar flares etc.). It seeded the device into a star system somewhere and should have then been brainwiped; somehow it retained some of its memories.

Combining my introduction to Traveller with the Mongoose Traveller 2nd Edition with Sarah Newton's homage to Ian M. Bank's Culture, I got this book years back, but have only run a single game with it. Shame on me. :-(

A quote from a review of this game in 2017:
Mindjammer for Traveller is VERY crunchy on rules. Since I have not read previous incarnations, I have no point of reference, but have been told even when using Fate, Mindjammer has a lot of rules. Be aware of the fact. But if you’re a Traveller player then that shouldn’t be an issue.

So I had both a splurge and also some resistance to Monte Cook. Obviously, because DnD 3.5e was my introduction to table tops, I just had to have the Ptolus vinyl map to complement the mighty tome that is Monte Cook's Ptolus City on the Spire.

However, there is a new Cypher system kickstarter, Diamond Throne, that evolved from the earlier d20 OGL Arcana Unearthed, that in my youth I ordered across the seas and waited for weeks for it to arrive via a shipment container that my local seller used to order computer equipment.

Just picked up a boxed set of Gardasiyal from a comic book store along the coast in Worthing via eBay UK. Cost me £90 but I did get free shipping :) . The boxed set has the Player's Guide, Sorcerous Compendium, Referee's Guide, Character Archetypes book, colour map, Quick Reference Charts and About this Game. Thrown in as well are The Tekumel Bestiary plus Part One Growing Up on Tekumel, Part Two/Vol One Coming of Age in Tekumel, Part Two/Vol Two Beyond the Borders of Tsolyanu, Part Two/Vol Three Beneath the Lands of Tsolyanu and Seal of the Imperium Vol 1 #1 World of Tekumel Fanzine. There's also 2 double-sided pages which show images of various archetype characters.

I now have three copies of Seal of the Imperium #1, 2 copies of Volume 1 Players Guide, 2 copies of Part 1 Growing up, 2 copies of Part 1 vol 1 Coming of Age , 2 copies of Part 2 vol 2 Beyond the Borders and 2 copies of the Bestiary as I've been picking up odd books here and there. I shall now be able to have a boxed copy of Gardasiyal and a complete set of the solo adventure books plus a Bestiary and be able to sell of some of the other bits and pieces if I need to.

Still looking for a decent copy of the Guardians of Order version though as I want t collect the complete set of alternative Tekumel rules. They seem quite hard to come by though.

'The Evolution of Species' for the Code of Steam and Steel/ Code of the Spacelanes. A really good adventure by SPB illustrating one of his demo games. I really like that it is littered with examples of how the rules work in different situations.
Will run this for the family when we go away to the caravan at the end of this month (COVID-19 permitting of course)
Must remember to pack my top hat and pneumatic trousers

Bless you!

But does this really count as a “splurge”? I tried to make it as free as possible.

Even though I had to commission artwork for it - there being no inclusive Steampunk stock art available anywhere.

Thanks for your support.
